Meet the farmer
Dragon Pearl Seafoods is proudly helping keep Australia’s wild-caught barramundi industry alive, continuing the traditions of the pioneering fishers who harvest from our northern waters.
Once caught, every product is carefully handled to preserve its natural freshness, flavour and quality. Seafood is either processed immediately, individually packed and snap-frozen at -25°C or below, or rapidly chilled in a saltwater brine maintained below 6°C.
From the water to your table, every step is managed with care—delivering premium wild-caught Australian barramundi and seafood at its very best.
Farm story
Behind Dragonpearl Seafood
Wild-Caught
Our seafood is genuinely wild-caught from the open waters of the Gulf of Carpentaria, one of Australia’s most remarkable fishing regions. Unlike farmed seafood, every catch comes from fish living naturally in their own environment, feeding and growing as nature intended. This creates exceptional flavour, firm texture and a quality you can taste. Each fish is carefully handled from the moment it leaves the water to preserve freshness and integrity. By choosing wild-caught seafood, you are supporting small-scale Australian fishers, a proud family tradition and a more authentic connection between the ocean, the boat and your table.
One of the Last of Its Kind
Dragon Pearl Seafoods is proudly one of the last remaining family-operated fishing businesses still working the historic waters of the Gulf of Carpentaria. For more than 30 years, the family has built its livelihood on hard work, experience and a deep respect for the ocean. In an industry increasingly dominated by large-scale operations, they continue to fish on a smaller, more personal scale, valuing quality over quantity. Every catch helps preserve a disappearing Australian tradition and supports a family committed to doing things properly. This is more than seafood—it is a living legacy worth protecting.
